Generator unit for mounting on a vehicle rim

Abstract

A generator unit comprising a generator for generating electrical energy from kinetic energy is proposed. The generator unit is designed to be mounted on a vehicle rim outside the tire area, so that the generator unit, together with the vehicle rim, can be mounted on a wheel carrier of a vehicle. The generator comprises a stator and a rotor rotatably mounted relative to the stator. The generator unit is designed such that, in the mounted state of the generator unit, {i} the position of the stator relative to the vehicle rim is fixed, and {ii} the rotor and / or the stator are arranged facing away from the vehicle relative to a wheel mounting surface of the vehicle rim.
