Vehicle with a display control system that prevents falsification of a measured vehicle ambient light level

Abstract

A vehicle includes a global positioning system to determine its location. An ambient light sensor generates a measured ambient light level inside the vehicle. A passenger display control module sets the brightness level of a passenger display in response to the measured ambient light level, selectively detects ambient light distortion, and overrides the passenger display brightness level upon detection of such distortion. The passenger display control module selects a private or shared viewing mode for the passenger display.The passenger display control module selectively overrides the brightness level when the viewing mode is set to private viewing mode and ambient light distortion is detected, and does not selectively override the brightness level when the viewing mode is set to shared viewing mode.
