Abstract

A mechanism for controlling the transmission of a datagram from a media access control module (MAC) of an electronic device. The MAC is configured to apply a hold signal outside of any transmission opportunity for the MAC. The MAC is configured to transmit the datagram only when the hold signal is removed. The hold signal is removed by the MAC only during a transmission opportunity for the electronic device.
