Abstract

The invention relates to an electric machine for an electric vehicle with a housing in which a stator (12) and a rotor are accommodated. The stator (12) consists of a laminated core (12a) with a plurality of stacked laminated laminations and a stator winding. Radially on the outside of the stator (12), a cavity is formed circumferentially around the stator (12), in which a cooling fluid for cooling the stator (12) is received or can be received. The cavity is formed between a stator support (13), which accommodates the stator (12) and supports the stator (12) radially outwards against the housing, and the housing. The invention proposes that the stator support (13) be designed in a sleeve-like form and have at least one opening (13b) in its outer surface (13a) through which a free passage from the laminated core (12a) to the cavity is provided.
