Abstract

According to various embodiments, a security device is described comprising a random number generator configured to generate a sequence of integers, and a processor configured to check for each of the integers whether the integer lies within a predetermined range, and for each of the integers to assign a value to a flag indicating whether the integer lies within the predetermined range, to sort the sequence of integers using the flag as a sort key in such a way that a predetermined number n of the generated integers that lie within the predetermined range are in the first n positions of the sorted sequence, and to perform a cryptographic operation using the random number at the first n positions of the sorted sequence.
