Valve actuating device for controlling a shut-off valve

Abstract

The present invention relates to a valve actuating device (40) for controlling a shut-off valve (28) of a compressed air line (44) for an automatic center buffer coupler (1) of a rail vehicle. A hook disc (12) of the center buffer coupler (1) is movable between at least one coupled and one uncoupled position. A valve actuating element (32) arranged on a main pin (8) of the hook disc (12) interacts with the shut-off valve (28) to close the compressed air line (44), the shut-off valve (28) being open in a coupled position of the hook disc (12). An electrically controlled holding device (56) is provided which blocks movement of the valve actuating element (32), so that when the hook disc (12) moves between the coupled and uncoupled positions, the shut-off valve (28) is held in the open position.In the uncoupled position of the hook disc (12), an elastic element (48) acts on the valve actuating element (32) in such a way that the valve actuating element (32) closes the pressure line (44) when the holding device (56) is actuated.
