Component feeding device with movable pull-off element for removing a cover film from a component belt, placement system and method for automatically placing a component carrier

Abstract

A component feeding device (140) for the sequential feeding of electronic components (192) located in a component tape (295) to a placement process is described. The component tape (295) comprises a carrier belt (296) with a plurality of pockets (297) formed therein for receiving one component (192) each, and a removable cover film (298) which closes the pockets (297) filled with components (192). The component feeding device (140) comprises (a) a chassis (342); (b) a belt transport section (344) which extends through the chassis (342) between a belt inlet (346) and a belt outlet (348); (c) a drive (350) for transporting the component tape (295) towards a component provisioning position (140a). and (d) a pull-off element (360) for peeling the cover film (298) from the carrier belt (296). The pull-off element (360) is movable along the belt transport path (344).When the pull-off element is moved, the point where the top film is pulled off moves along the belt transport path. Furthermore, a placement system with at least one such component feeder (140) and a method for inserting a component belt (295) into such a component feeder (140) are described.
