Device and method for detecting leaks in air spring systems of railway vehicles

Abstract

The invention relates to a device (40) and a method for detecting leaks in an air spring system (1) of a rail vehicle (2). The device (40) comprises a detection unit (41) for detecting a switching pattern (20, 30) of a valve (10, 11) of the air spring system (1) over a predetermined period, wherein the switching pattern (20, 30) represents the temporal sequence of switching operations (23, 31) of the valve (10, 11); and an analysis unit (42) for analyzing the switching pattern (20, 30) in order to identify a characteristic pattern and detect a leak in the air spring system (1) if the characteristic pattern corresponds to a predefined leakage pattern.
