Abstract

The invention relates to a method for operating a drive unit (1) for a motor vehicle, which has an exhaust gas-generating drive unit and an exhaust gas aftertreatment device (2) comprising a particulate filter (3) for aftertreating the exhaust gas, wherein a pressure difference across the particulate filter (3) is measured and the soot loading of the particulate filter (3) is determined based on the pressure difference. It is provided that the determination of the soot loading is carried out taking into account the exhaust gas flow rate through the particulate filter (3) over time. The invention further relates to a drive unit (1) for a motor vehicle and a computer program product.
