Abstract
A battery system includes a current sensor that detects ripple current and an electronic control unit (ECU). Based on a damping curve, the ECU reconstructs the actual amplitude of the ripple current flowing through the current sensor from the ripple current amplitude detected by the current sensor. If the reconstructed amplitude is greater than the upper limit of the ripple current amplitude at which lithium deposits in a battery can be suppressed, the ECU reduces the ripple current amplitude.
