Abstract

A back-office safety call device includes: a memory that stores a factor table containing factors associated with a host vehicle and a user, and a call event file generated when an emergency call was initiated; an interactive virtual machine assistant module (IVMA module) that calls back the user or the host vehicle where the emergency call was initiated and, while attempting to establish a connection to communicate with the user or during an ongoing call with the user, determines whether the emergency call is associated with an actual emergency, a non-emergency, or is unspecified;and a module for unconfirmed emergency calls which, in response to the fact that the emergency call is unspecified, determines a probability based on the factors whether the emergency call is associated with an actual emergency, and directs the current call and / or call event file to a non-emergency advisor device or to an emergency advisor device based on the probability.
