Abstract
A transceiver (4) contained in a node (10, 20, 40, 50) has an activation signal detection unit (51) configured to detect identification information from an activation signal sent by another node onto the ship's communication line. The node is connected to the ship's communication line (5) as one of several nodes (10, 20, 40, 50). Each of the several nodes is configured to send the activation signal, containing the identification information for its own node, onto the ship's communication line. The transceiver is configured to activate when the identification information detected by the activation signal detection unit matches its own node.
