STEER-BY-WIRE SYSTEM WITH TWO ENGINE DRIVE UNITS

Abstract

A steer-by-wire system is presented. The steer-by-wire system comprises a first drive unit and a second drive unit, and a rack that is operationally coupled to the first and second drive units, the rack being configured to move linearly in response to the rotation of the motors of the first and second drive units. The first drive unit further includes a time generator circuit configured to generate and provide motor position timing for controllers of both the first and second drive units, and the time generator circuit is a single motor position timestamp generation component located between the first and second drive units of the steer-by-wire system.
