Abstract
A system comprises a radio frequency (RF) or flip-flop (FF) receive path designed to receive a reflection of a transmitted signal. The signal may consist of a pulse train with rising and falling edges. The FF receive path can process the received signal using one or more time-to-digital converters (TDCs). The output of the TDCs can be used to reconstruct an image of the transmitted signal. The system may further include a time-domain (TD) cross-correlation function circuit designed to perform a TD cross-correlation function on the transmitted signal and on the reconstructed image. The result of the TD cross-correlation function can indicate a propagation delay.
