PHASE SEQUENCEMENT FOR MULTI-PHASE POWER CONVERTERS

Abstract

Methods, equipment, systems, and manufacturing articles for phase sequencing of multiphase power converters are described. An exemplary system includes an interface circuit arrangement configurable for coupling to a first phase and a second phase of a power converter; and a processing circuit arrangement coupled to the interface circuit arrangement and configurable to: activate the first phase while the second phase is deactivated; in response to a power converter output current exceeding a first threshold after the first phase is activated, activate both the first and second phases; and in response to the second phase's output current failing to exceed the first threshold after the second phase is activated, deactivate the second phase while the first phase is activated.
