Abstract

A blower (2) comprises a blower (6), a drive motor, an intake opening (14), an intake opening mounting component (18), an intake opening detection sensor, an actuation component (20), an actuation detection sensor, and a control unit. The intake opening detection sensor is in a first state when the mounting component is attached, and in a second state when it is not attached.The control unit drives the drive machine when the intake opening detection sensor is in the first state and the actuation detection sensor is on, stops the drive machine when the intake opening detection sensor is in the first state and the actuation detection sensor is off, and stops the drive machine and then prevents the drive machine from being driven when the intake opening detection sensor changes from the first state to the second state while the actuation detection sensor is on, until the actuation detection sensor changes from on to off.
