DETAILED DESCRIPTION
[0018] The technical solutions in the embodiments of the present application are described below in a clear and comprehensive manner with reference to the figures in those embodiments. Naturally, the described embodiment represents not all, but only a subset of the embodiments in the application. All further embodiments that would be apparent to a person skilled in the art without inventive step, starting from the embodiments in the present application, also fall within the scope of protection of the present application.
[0019] The present application is explained in more detail below in connection with the figures and the detailed embodiments in order to make the above-mentioned problem, features and advantages of the present application clearer and easier to understand.
[0020] It should be noted that the embodiments and features in the embodiments of the present application can be combined with one another without causing any contradictions. Based on the Fig. 1, Fig. 2, Fig. 3, Fig. 4, Fig. 5, Fig. 6, Fig. 7, Fig. 8, Fig. 9 to Fig. 10. In the following, a device and a method for the safety testing of power batteries, as well as a terminal device and a medium, are explained in more detail in the embodiments of the present application.
[0021] See Fig. 1. It shows a schematic view of the overall structure of a device for the safety testing of power batteries according to an embodiment of the present application. The device 10 for the safety testing of power batteries comprises a base 101, a closed spherical tank 102, a test platform 103, a portal frame 104, and a control module (not shown). As in Fig. As shown in Figure 2, the closed spherical tank 102 comprises an upper part 1021 and a lower part 1022. The upper part 1021 is slidably connected to the portal frame 104 and is movable back and forth vertically along a first guide rail of the portal frame 104. The lower part 1022 is located inside the base 101, the base 101 being provided with a second guide rail around its circumference, along which the portal frame 104 is movable horizontally. This means that the opening and closing of the upper part 1021 is achieved by a vertical movement of the upper part 1021 and a horizontal movement of the portal frame 104 itself. These movements are motor-controlled.In comparison to conventional ejection designs, this arrangement reduces the overall space requirement of the device and provides easier access for the operating personnel to the test platform 103, which is located in the lower part 1022 of the spherical tank.
[0022] In some embodiments of the present application, several lockable casters may be provided on the underside of the base 101 to facilitate transport of the device. Operating buttons may also be located around the circumference of the base 101, enabling certain functions such as the movement of the portal frame 104, the opening and closing of the upper part 1021 of the spherical tank, and the manual selection of an operating mode for the trigger module to induce battery failure, without dependence on control by a control module such as a computer. Furthermore, a maintenance compartment may be located below the base 101, which serves to accommodate a communication module and cables. A gas line duct is provided, connected to the closed spherical tank 102, and an air pressure sensor is arranged on this duct. This prevents the air pressure sensor from being affected by short-term burns or explosions in the maintenance room. The closed, spherical tank has a total volume of 1,150 liters. Compared to conventional cylindrical or cuboid containers, this significantly reduces the influence of the container's shape on the distribution of parameters inside. Combined with its large tank design (the maximum cross-sectional diameter of the sphere is 1,300 mm, considerably larger than the battery under test) and a multi-point sensor array inside the tank, the distribution of temperature, smoke, and gases within the container can be precisely analyzed.Compared to conventional methods that only record the average value of a single parameter in the tank, this method enables a more realistic reproduction of battery failure as well as analysis with higher spatial resolution. This is advantageous for battery manufacturers, as it allows them to optimize their products and take preventative measures against damage-causing malfunctions. The upper part 1021 of the spherical tank can be equipped with a gas exchange channel, the openings of which are hermetically sealed, thus ensuring the tank's tightness when the channel is closed. At a connection point to the lower part 1022 of the spherical tank, several pins are provided for limiting the connection; these, together with a sealing ring located at this point, ensure the internal tightness of the closed sphere. With the gas exchange channel open, vacuum generation, gas exchange and the extraction of gases from inside the tank can also take place.
[0023] In some embodiments of the present application, the test platform 103 may include, among other things, but not exclusively, a mounting platform for the battery, a trigger module for inducing battery failure, a sensor holder, and lines consisting of a first and a second line, wherein the mounting platform for the battery is arranged at the spherical center of the lower part 1022 of the spherical tank, and wherein the sensor holder is arranged circumferentially around the mounting platform for the battery and is equipped with sensors in different directions. As, for example, in Fig. As shown in Figure 3, a support center a of the sensor mount is located below the mounting platform for the battery. The sensor mount comprises several positioning brackets b, which are distributed radially around a circle whose center is the support center a. This allows for the positioning of individual sensors in three-dimensional space, enabling precise detection of temperature, smoke, and gas signals at multiple points inside the tank. As also shown, for example, in Fig. As shown in Figure 4, the multiple positioning holders b can comprise a first positioning holder b1, a second positioning holder b2, a third positioning holder b3, and a fourth positioning holder b4, wherein the first positioning holder b1 and the second positioning holder b2 are located in a first sub-area of the circle, while the third positioning holder b3 and the fourth positioning holder b4 are located in a second sub-area of the circle. The first positioning holder b1 has the same sensor type as the third positioning holder b3. The second positioning holder b2 has the same sensor type as the fourth positioning holder b4. However, the sensor type of the first positioning holder b1 differs from that of the second positioning holder b2.In this way, a spherical boundary and sensors at different positions enable direct and comprehensive monitoring of the distribution of the various monitored values during battery failure. Furthermore, the sensor type is identical at different radial positions on the first positioning holder (bl), the second positioning holder (b2), the third positioning holder (b3), and the fourth positioning holder (b4), thus allowing for rapid acquisition and determination of the distribution of the various monitored values during the thermal runaway of the battery under test.
[0024] For example, the sensors are also intended to include, but are not limited to, a voltage sensor for monitoring voltage changes of the battery under test during thermal runaway, a temperature sensor for monitoring temperature changes of the battery under test during thermal runaway, an expansion force sensor for monitoring changes in expansion force of the battery under test during thermal runaway, a smoke sensor for monitoring the amount of smoke (PM2.5, PM10) produced by the battery under test during thermal runaway, and an air pressure sensor for monitoring the amount of gas produced by the battery under test during thermal runaway, etc. For example, the temperature rise rate can be calculated by directly measuring real-time temperatures with the temperature sensor, i.e.,The first derivative of the real-time temperature with respect to time is calculated, where the sensor sampling frequency is 10 Hz. It is also intended, for example, that the quantity and rate of gas production are calculated numerically using the air pressure sensor, where the quantity of gas production V is calculated according to the ideal gas law pV = nRT, where p is the reading from the air pressure sensor, n is the amount of gas (in mol), R is the molar gas constant (unit: J / (mol·K)), and T is the temperature (unit: K), and where the rate of gas production is obtained from the first derivative of the gas volume with respect to time.
[0025] Furthermore, in addition to the sensor types mentioned above, the sensors can also include a mass sensor for monitoring the discharge pressure of a pressure relief valve and for data verification during thermal runaway of the battery under test, as well as various gas sensors (CO, CO2, H2, CH4). For example, if the battery under test is positioned vertically, the pressure relief valve points upwards. If no discharge occurs from the battery under test via the valve, the force measured by the mass sensor on the battery mounting platform corresponds to the weight of the battery under test. However, if discharge occurs from the battery under test via the valve, the force measured by the mass sensor corresponds to the sum of the weight of the battery under test and the discharge pressure. The discharge pressure can be calculated from the sudden change in the mass sensor reading at the moment the pressure relief valve opens, namely: Discharge pressure = (Mass sensor reading at the time of discharge - Initial mass sensor reading) * g, where g is the acceleration due to gravity and is set to 9.8 N / kg. Furthermore: Final mass of the battery under test - Initial mass of the battery under test = Total amount of substances released from the battery under test during the valve discharge; Total amount of substances released from the battery under test during the valve discharge = Total amount of smoke produced by the battery under test + Total amount of gas produced by the battery under test. Therefore, the deviations between the mass sensor readings and the total readings of the smoke sensor or the air pressure sensor can be compared. If the deviation exceeds a predefined threshold, calibration or replacement of the sensors is required. This enables data verification and improves the accuracy of the calculation. For example, the interior of the lower part 1022 of the spherical tank is relatively large, and a battery explosion typically generates localized high temperatures. All temperature sensors are designed to withstand the maximum temperature requirements in the event of a battery explosion (1,200 °C). With other sensor types, there is a certain distance from the battery under test, allowing localized high temperatures to gradually dissipate as they propagate, and ensuring that the temperature resistance of these sensors meets the test requirements. The sensor housings are insulated against explosion-related dust. This avoids negative effects of explosion residues on the sensors and achieves higher precision in the monitored values.
[0026] Another example envisions that the trigger module for inducing battery failure includes, among other things, but not exclusively, an electric heating mechanism, a mechanism for electrical stimulation, a compression mechanism located on one side of the battery mounting platform, and a puncture mechanism located below the battery mounting platform, etc. This means that battery failure of the battery under test can be triggered by heating, electrical stimulation, compression, or puncture. The operation of the trigger module for inducing battery failure includes both individual and combined triggering methods. The electric heating mechanism can include an electric heating plate whose heating power can be adjusted to regulate the heating rate and which can be dynamically adapted during the test.If heating is chosen as the trigger for failure, the electric heating plate must be glued to a large area of the battery under test, and a temperature sensor must be attached. A battery holder must also be installed if necessary. For the electrically signaled stimulation mechanism, a conduit provided in the tank must be connected to the positive and negative terminals of the battery under test. A control module, such as a computer, then controls an electrochemical workstation or a charge / discharge tester to precisely trigger battery failure, for example, due to overcharging, over-discharging, or overcurrent. Voltage and current are precisely controllable. With the compression mechanism, the shape of the compression block can be changed, and the compression block's movement speed can be programmatically controlled.Depending on the test requirements, different needles (e.g., steel or insulated) can be used in the piercing mechanism, with both the needle diameter and the tip angle being adjustable. Furthermore, the needle's movement speed and stroke are programmatically controllable, enabling highly precise, light punctures with a minimum traverse of 0.1 mm and control accuracy down to the electrode level.
[0027] In some embodiments of the present application, the control module can be a computer connected via the first line to the trigger module for inducing battery failure and via the second line to the sensors. The control module can control an operating mode of the trigger module for inducing battery failure to generate a thermal runaway of a battery under test, provided that the battery under test is placed on the mounting platform for the battery and the upper part 1021 and the lower part 1022 of the spherical tank are tightly connected to each other. If a monitored sensor value meets a first predefined condition, which includes, but is not limited to, the temperature exceeding a first predefined temperature threshold, the temperature rise rate reaching a predefined temperature rise threshold, and the voltage dropping to a predefined voltage threshold, the trigger module for inducing a battery failure is stopped, and the recording of monitored sensor values continues until a specific monitored sensor value meets a second predefined condition, which includes, but is not limited to, the temperature dropping to a second predefined temperature threshold (e.g., room temperature). Then, the monitored sensor values between the start of the test and the time the second predefined condition is reached are extracted. Finally, a safety value for the battery under test is determined based on these monitored sensor values and a corresponding weighting of these monitored values. The start time of the test corresponds, for example, to the time when the battery under test is placed on the battery mounting platform and the upper part 1021 and the lower part 1022 of the spherical tank are tightly connected.
[0028] In the embodiments of the device proposed for the safety testing of power batteries, the mounting platform for the battery is arranged in the lower part of the spherical tank of the closed spherical tank, the mounting platform for the battery is located at the center of the sphere of the lower part of the spherical tank, and the sensor holder is arranged around the mounting platform for the battery and is equipped with sensors in different directions, making it possible to carry out direct and comprehensive monitoring of the distribution of the various monitored values during a battery failure by means of a spherical boundary and sensors at different positions, without having to rely on average values.
[0029] At the same time, the upper and lower parts of the spherical tank form a closed space, thus excluding external environmental influences and enabling more precise monitoring. Furthermore, a highly reliable safety value for the battery under test is determined based on the monitored sensor readings and a corresponding weighting of these values.
[0030] Based on the aforementioned embodiments, one embodiment of the present application provides a method for the safety testing of power batteries. This method is used in a device 10 for the safety testing of power batteries, as described in the embodiments from Fig. 1, Fig. 2, Fig. 3 to Fig. 4 is shown. See Fig. 5. It shows a schematic flowchart of a method for the safety testing of power batteries according to an embodiment of the present application. The method comprises, in particular, the following steps: S101: Controlling an operating mode of the trigger module to induce a battery failure in order to generate a thermal runaway of a battery under test, provided that the battery under test is placed on the mounting platform for the battery and the upper and lower parts of the spherical tank are tightly connected.
[0031] For example, before the test begins, the closed spherical tank 102 is opened, the battery to be tested is placed on the battery mounting platform, and a signal acquisition line is connected. The sensors are then switched on to verify that the signals are being acquired correctly. Afterward, the upper part 1021 and the lower part 1022 of the spherical tank are tightly connected by a horizontal movement of the portal frame 104 and a vertical movement of the upper part 1021. At the connection point between the upper part 1021 and the lower part 1022 of the spherical tank, several locking pins are provided, which, together with a sealing ring located at this point, ensure the internal tightness of the closed sphere.Furthermore, the triggering module for inducing battery failure includes both single and combined triggering. Battery failure of the battery under test is triggered by at least one of the following methods: heating, stimulation by electrical signals, compression, or puncture.
[0032] S102: Stop the operation of the trigger module to induce a battery failure and resume the recording of monitored sensor values when a monitored sensor value meets a first predefined condition, until a certain monitored sensor value meets a second predefined condition.
[0033] For example, a temperature reading monitored by the temperature sensor that exceeds the first predefined temperature threshold indicates that the battery under test is in a state of thermal runaway. In this case, the operation of the trigger module for inducing battery failure must be stopped. Conversely, if a temperature reading monitored by the temperature sensor falls to the second predefined temperature threshold, this indicates that the thermal runaway state of the battery under test has ended. Once the temperature inside the closed spherical tank 102 has dropped to room temperature, the smoke and gas emissions contained in the tank are vented via the gas exchange channel in the upper part 1021 of the spherical tank. Subsequently, the tank is opened, the battery under test is removed, and the tank is cleaned, thus concluding the test.
[0034] S103: Extracting the monitored values of the sensors between the time of the start of the test and the time of reaching the second specified condition, and determining a safety value of the battery to be tested based on these monitored sensor values and a corresponding weighting of these monitored values.
[0035] For example, it is envisaged that during battery failure of the battery under test, the following phenomena may occur successively: defects or damage, minor electrolyte leakage or rupture of the aluminum-plastic foil, significant electrolyte leakage or rupture of the aluminum-plastic foil, breakage, ignition or smoke development, and an explosion. Using the device 10 for the safety testing of power batteries according to the embodiments of the present application, the real-time state of the battery under test can be monitored from several dimensions – electrical, thermal, gaseous, and mechanical. Thus, the sensors in the individual sub-areas each comprise a voltage sensor, a temperature sensor, a smoke sensor, and an expansion force sensor, with the voltage sensor being used jointly. In this context, Fig. Figure 6 shows a graph of monitored voltage values from the voltage sensor. For a first sub-area, in Fig. 7 a graph of monitored temperature values from the temperature sensor, in Fig. 8 a graph of monitored smoke quantities generated by the smoke sensor and in Fig. Figure 9 shows a graph of the monitored expansion forces from the expansion force sensor. The evaluation point value of the monitored stress value is calculated according to the following formula: score(V)=100V2V02
[0036] In formula (1), V represents a currently monitored voltage value in volts and V0 represents an initially monitored voltage value in volts. The weighting of the monitored voltage value can be 20%.
[0037] The rating point value of the monitored temperature value is calculated according to the following formula: score(T)=1.32×10−3T2−0.793T+119
[0038] In formula (2), T represents the current temperature in °C. The weighting of the monitored temperature value can be 40%.
[0039] The rating point value for the monitored amount of smoke produced is calculated according to the following formula: score(x)=1.5×105x+1500
[0040] In formula (3), x represents the amount of smoke produced in ppm. The weighting of the monitored amount of smoke can be 35%.
[0041] The rating point value of the monitored expansion force is calculated according to the following formula: score(F)=1001+e−32(1.2−FF0)
[0042] In equation (4), F represents a current expansion force in Newtons and F0 represents an initial expansion force in Newtons. The weighting of the monitored expansion force can be 5%. It should be noted that the weighting of the monitored voltage value, the weighting of the monitored temperature value, the weighting of the monitored amount of smoke generated, and the weighting of the monitored expansion force can be determined based on extensive historical test data from the same battery category to which the battery under test belongs. This means that the individual weightings can be dynamically adjusted over time through continuous learning.
[0043] Furthermore, the safety value of the first sub-area is calculated according to the following formula: score(1) = 0.2 * score(V) + 0.4 * score(T) + 0.35 * score(x) + 0.05 * score(F). The safety value score(2) for a second area is calculated using the same principle. After the safety values of the respective sub-areas have been obtained, a safety value for the battery to be tested is determined based on the respective weightings of the sub-areas. For example, the safety value of the battery to be tested is calculated as follows: score = 0.45 * score(1) + 0.55 * score(2). Naturally, the circle with the support center a as its center can also be evenly divided into three, four, or five sub-areas. The sensor type composition is the same in all sub-areas; however, the specific arrangement and combination of sensor types differs within each sub-area.The respective weightings of the individual sub-areas can be determined using simulation tests with the battery to be tested, making a combination of simulation and real testing possible and achieving an even more precise result.
[0044] It should be noted that steps and content that are identical to those in other embodiments in this embodiment refer to the description of those other embodiments, so repetition is unnecessary here.
[0045] In the method for safety testing of power batteries proposed in the embodiments of the present application, the mounting platform for the battery is arranged in the lower part of the spherical tank of the closed spherical tank, the mounting platform for the battery is located at the center of the sphere of the lower part of the spherical tank, and the sensor holder is arranged circumferentially around the mounting platform for the battery and is equipped with sensors in different directions, making it possible to carry out direct and comprehensive monitoring of the distribution of the various monitored values during a battery failure by means of a spherical boundary and sensors at different positions, without having to rely on average values. At the same time, the upper and lower parts of the spherical tank form a closed space, thus excluding external environmental influences and enabling more precise monitoring. Furthermore, a highly reliable safety value for the battery under test is determined based on the monitored sensor readings and a corresponding weighting of these values.
[0046] Another aspect of this application is the provision of an end device. See Fig. 10. The terminal device 20 can comprise a processor 21 and a memory 22. The memory 22 stores at least one instruction, at least one program, a code set, or an instruction set, wherein the instruction, program, code set, or instruction set is loaded and executed by the processor 21 to perform the steps of the procedure for the safety testing of power batteries in the embodiment according to the Fig. 5, Fig. 6, Fig. 7, Fig. 8 to Fig. 9 to implement.
[0047] As a further aspect, an embodiment of the present application provides for a computer-readable storage medium that stores program codes. These program codes are for executing any embodiment of the method for the safety testing of power batteries according to the embodiments in the Fig. 5, Fig. 6, Fig. 7, Fig. 8 to Fig. 9 planned.
[0048] For experts in the relevant technical field, it is clear that, to simplify the description, the specific workflows of the system, device, and modules described above can be understood by referring to the corresponding process steps in the previously described process examples. Therefore, they will not be discussed again here.

For example, the embodiments of the device described above are only shown schematically.
