Abstract
A cathode-active material contains at least one element selected from the group consisting of Ni, Co, and Mn. The cathode-active material has a shape in which two or more primary particles are superimposed. The primary particles are single crystals with a crystal structure belonging to the space group R-3m. The primary particles are layered such that their (003) planes are aligned parallel to each other. In a section of the cathode-active material obtained with a transmission electron microscope, the material exhibits at least one first crack. The longitudinal direction of the first crack runs parallel to the (003) planes of the primary particles.
