ACCELERATION METER LOCATIONS IN A VEHICLE FOR WEIGHT ESTIMATING AND ASSOCIATED PROCEDURES

Abstract

Accelerometer locations in a vehicle for weight estimation and associated methods are disclosed. An exemplary vehicle includes a suspension system comprising an upper control arm, a lower strut joint or leaf spring, and a shackle to operatively couple a wheel to a frame of the vehicle, and an accelerometer coupled to the upper control arm, lower strut joint, or shackle to change the position of the accelerometer when the upper control arm, lower strut joint, or shackle moves due to a change in a load carried by the vehicle.
