Abstract
A vehicle control unit (80) in which three current characteristics, each representing a characteristic of a current flowing to a corresponding one of the three electrical machines (MG1, MG2, MG3) and each acquired when a discharge control is executed to discharge a charge of a capacitor (62) via the corresponding one of the three electrical machines (MG1, MG2, MG3), are compared with each other. If it is determined that one of the three current characteristics deviates from the other two by at least a predetermined amount, an output value of a corresponding current sensor (94) corresponding to that of the three current characteristics determined to be deviating from the other two is corrected.
