FUSION OF VISION AND MAP SPEED FOR NAVIGATION

Abstract

A system for navigating a host vehicle relative to a road segment can store a speed limit indicator in a map among the navigation information associated with the road segment.The system can determine an initial navigation action for the host vehicle based on the received speed limit indicator; cause at least one system associated with the host vehicle to implement the initial navigation action; receive an image captured by at least one camera on board the host vehicle; determine a condition depicted in the received image that affects the speed limit; determine a condition-based speed limit based on the condition affecting the speed limit; determine a second navigation action for the host vehicle based on the condition-based speed limit; and cause the at least one system associated with the host vehicle to implement the second navigation action.
