Abstract
Aspects of this technology enable energy-efficient operations for determining when a wearable electronic device is being worn. A microphone can be used to identify one or more acoustic indicators of whether a device is being worn, not worn, or in the process of being put on or taken off. An operating state can be set based on the one or more acoustic indicators.
