Abstract

A control device regulates the amount of electricity supplied from an external power source to a vehicle's battery in response to a demand response (DR) request. The control device includes a computation unit configured to calculate a baseline, which provides a predicted value of the expected electricity demand (in cases where DR is not implemented, based on performance data indicating past electricity demand); to calculate a target total current at the time of a backup, which indicates a maximum electricity demand to be secured (based on the baseline, based on a contractually agreed current determined in accordance with a DR bid result); and to calculate a planned total current, which provides a predicted value of the expected electricity demand (in cases where DR is not implemented).based on a charging plan for the vehicle, and a resource backup unit which is configured to backup a first resource, which is an amount of current from the planned total current to the baseline, and a second resource, which is an amount of current from the planned total current to the target total current at the time of backup.
