Abstract
An exhaust gas purification device (10) comprises: a first catalyst (33) arranged in an exhaust passage (30) of an engine and containing a three-way catalyst; a second catalyst (34) arranged on a downstream side of the first catalyst (33) and containing an NH3 adsorbent; a third catalyst (35) arranged on a downstream side of the second catalyst (34) and containing an HC adsorbent; a fourth catalyst (36) arranged on a downstream side of the third catalyst (35) and containing an oxidation catalyst and an oxygen storage / release material; and a secondary air supply device (40) that supplies secondary air between the first catalyst (33) and the second catalyst (34).The NH3 adsorbent contains a zeolite that has a pore structure of an oxygen ring with fewer than ten members, and the HC adsorbent contains a zeolite that has a pore structure of an oxygen ring with ten or more members.
