Abstract

The invention relates to a beverage holder (10) for a motor vehicle, comprising two shell elements (12, 14) which define a receiving space (16) in which a beverage container can be received, whereby the beverage container can be grasped by the shell elements (12, 14) in the circumferential direction (20) of the receiving space (16), wherein the shell elements (12, 14) form an opening (22) through which the beverage container can be moved into the receiving space (16) in an insertion direction (24) for receipt, wherein the shell elements (12, 14) are pivotably connected to each other about a pivot axis (34), wherein a first of the shell elements (12) has an impact area (36) which projects beyond the second of the shell elements (14) in a direction (38) which runs opposite to the insertion direction (24).by applying a force to the impact area (36) from the beverage container, which is inclined or perpendicular to the impact area (36), the shell elements (12, 14) can be pivoted relative to each other about the pivot axis (34).
