Abstract

Armrest (100) for the interior of a vehicle comprising: a support element (10) on which a support element (20) is movably mounted between a rest position (I) and an extended position (III), and an adjustment unit (30) for pivoting and sliding the support element (20) relative to the support element (10), characterized in that an electrically actuated locking unit (40) is provided to release the support element (20) for movement relative to the support element (10) and to lock it in position relative to the support element (10) during movement between the rest position (I) and the extended position (III), in particular to lock it in any position, that the locking unit (40) has a first brake element (41) to prevent sliding movement of the support element (20) relative to the support element (10), and that the locking unit (40) has a second brake element (42).to stop a pivoting movement of the support element (20) relative to the carrier element (10).
