AI Technical Summary
Existing injection molding machines face challenges in bringing the nozzle of the injection section into contact with the mold half due to the presence of structures between the injection section and the stationary plate, which can create a large distance and hinder effective alignment.
The injection molding machine incorporates a first and second linear motion mechanism with guide elements that support the injection section and a connecting structure, where the guide elements are arranged differently in height and position to allow for precise alignment and contact between the stationary plate and injection section, using a motor-driven ball screw mechanism to maintain contact.
This configuration enables effective contact between the nozzle and mold half, facilitating efficient injection of molding material while preventing interference and maintaining structural stability, allowing for easy maintenance and alignment adjustments.

Detailed description of the invention
[0005] In the case where a molding material is injected from an injection section, a nozzle of the injection section comes into contact with a mold half attached to a stationary plate. However, if a structure such as the connecting element described above is present between the injection section and the stationary plate, the distance between the stationary plate and the injection section becomes relatively large. Therefore, if, for example, the injection section is reduced in size, a situation may arise in which the nozzle of the injection section cannot be brought into contact with the mold half attached to the stationary plate. One objective of the present disclosure is to provide an injection molding machine capable of advantageously bringing a stationary plate and an injection section into contact with each other. [Design][Injection molding machine configuration]
[0006] Fig. Figure 1 is a side view showing a configuration of an injection molding machine 1, and Fig. Figure 2 is a side view showing a portion of the injection molding machine 1 in an injection state. In the present embodiment, a front-back direction D1, an up-down direction D2, and a left-right direction D3 are defined. The up-down direction D2 corresponds to the vertical direction of the injection molding machine 1. The left-right direction D3 corresponds to the horizontal direction of the injection molding machine 1.
[0007] It should be noted that one direction in the front-back direction D1 is a forward direction D11 and the other direction in the front-back direction D1 is a backward direction D12. Furthermore, one direction in the up-down direction D2 is an upward direction D21 and the other direction in the up-down direction D2 is a downward direction D22. Furthermore, one direction in the left-right direction D3 is a leftward direction D31 (see Fig. 3) and the other direction in the left-right direction D3 a rightward direction D32 (see Fig. 3) In the present embodiment, the downward direction D22 is a direction in which gravity acts, but is not limited to it.
[0008] The injection molding machine 1 comprises a machine base 10, a clamping unit 12 and an injection unit 14.
[0009] The machine base 10 is a base on which the clamping unit 12 and the injection unit 14 are mounted. The machine base 10 comprises a first machine base part 10A, on which the clamping unit 12 is mounted, and a second machine base part 10B, on which the injection unit 14 is mounted. The first machine base part 10A and the second machine base part 10B can be detachably connected to each other. In this case, for example, during maintenance, the first machine base part 10A and the second machine base part 10B, which are connected to each other, can be separated. Therefore, this injection molding machine 1 allows a user easy access to the clamping unit 12 or the injection unit 14 and facilitates simple maintenance.
[0010] In the present embodiment, an upper surface 10F1 of the first machine base part 10A is lower than an upper surface 10F2 of the second machine base part 10B. The height reference in the present embodiment is a lower end surface 10F3 of the machine base 10. The lower end surface 10F3 of the machine base 10 is in contact with a base surface such as the floor.
[0011] The clamping unit 12 comprises a stationary plate 20, a rear plate 22, a movable plate 24, a mold 26, a plurality of tie bars 28 and a plate drive mechanism 29.
[0012] The stationary plate 20 and the rear plate 22 are installed on the upper surface 10F1 of the first machine base part 10A with a gap between them. A nozzle insertion hole 20H is formed in the stationary plate 20. The movable plate 24 is arranged between the stationary plate 20 and the rear plate 22.
[0013] The mold 26 is formed by a first mold half 26A and a second mold half 26B. The first mold half 26A is attached to an end face of the stationary plate 20 in the forward direction D11. The second mold half 26B is attached to an end face of the movable plate 24 in the reverse direction D12.
[0014] Each of the multiple beams 28 is a rod-shaped element. First end sections of the multiple beams 28 are attached to the stationary plate 20. Second end sections of the multiple beams 28 are attached to the rear plate 22. The multiple beams 28 penetrate the movable plate 24. The movable plate 24 is movable along the multiple beams 28.
[0015] The plate drive mechanism 29 is a mechanism that moves the movable plate 24. The plate drive mechanism 29 closes the mold 26 by moving the movable plate 24 in the reverse direction D12. Conversely, the plate drive mechanism 29 opens the mold 26 by moving the movable plate 24 in the forward direction D11. It should be noted that when the mold 26 is closed, the first mold half 26A is in contact with the second mold half 26B. Conversely, when the mold 26 is open, the first mold half 26A is not in contact with the second mold half 26B.
[0016] The injection unit 14 comprises an injection section 30 and a structure 32. The structure 32 is located between the stationary plate 20 and the injection section 30. In the present embodiment, the structure 32 is a connecting element 34 that connects the stationary plate 20 and the injection section 30. Note that the structure 32 can be provided within the clamping unit 12.
[0017] The injection section 30 is a device that injects a molding material. The injection section 30 comprises an injection section main body 42, a cylinder part 44, a nozzle 46, and a nozzle contact mechanism 48. The injection section main body 42 is displaceable relative to the machine base 10 in the forward direction D11 or the reverse direction D12. The cylinder part 44 is attached to the injection section main body 42 and extends from the injection section main body 42 in the forward direction D11. The nozzle 46 extends from the tip of the cylinder part 44 in the forward direction D11.
[0018] The nozzle contact mechanism 48 is a mechanism that moves the injection section 30 in the forward direction D11 or the reverse direction D12. The nozzle contact mechanism 48 comprises a motor 52, a ball screw spindle 54, and a ball screw nut 56.
[0019] The motor 52 moves the injection section 30 in the forward direction D11 or the reverse direction D12. The ball screw 54 extends along the forward-reverse direction D1. An end section of the ball screw 54 in the reverse direction D12 is connected to a rotor shaft of the motor 52 via a coupling 58. An end section of the ball screw 54 in the forward direction D11 is connected to the connecting element 34. The ball screw nut 56 is screwed to the ball screw 54 and connected via a spring 60 to a base section 104, to which the injection section main body 42 is attached. Note that the spring 60 is not required. In this case, the ball screw nut 56 is connected to the base section 104 without the intermediate spring 60.
[0020] When the motor 52 is driven in a first direction of rotation, the ball screw spindle 54, which is connected to the rotor shaft of the motor 52, rotates, and the ball screw nut 56, which is screwed to the ball screw spindle 54, moves in the reverse direction D12. As a result, the injection section 30 moves in the reverse direction D12.
[0021] Conversely, if the motor 52 is driven in a second direction of rotation opposite to the first direction of rotation, the ball screw spindle 54, which is connected to the rotor shaft of the motor 52, rotates, and the ball screw nut 56, which is screwed to the ball screw spindle 54, moves in the forward direction D11. As a result, the injection section 30 moves in the forward direction D11. In accordance with the movement of the injection section 30 in the forward direction D11, the nozzle 46 of the injection section 30 is inserted into the nozzle insertion hole 20H of the stationary plate 20, and a nozzle contact condition is established (see Figure 1). Fig. 2) The nozzle contact state is a state in which the nozzle 46 is in contact with a nozzle contact section (a coil) of the first mold half 26A. In this nozzle contact state, the mold 26 is clamped.
[0022] In the case where the molding material is injected into the mold 26, the nozzle contact mechanism 48 moves the injection section 30 relative to the machine base 10 in the forward direction D11, causing the nozzle 46 to come into contact with the first mold half 26A (see Fig. 2) The nozzle contact mechanism 48 drives the motor 52 in the second direction of rotation, even after the nozzle 46 has come into contact with the first mold half 26A, thereby moving the ball screw nut 56 in the forward direction D11. As a result, the spring 60 is compressed, and the nozzle contact state is maintained by the compression reaction force.
[0023] Furthermore, if spring 60 is not provided, the nozzle contact state is maintained by continuously driving motor 52 in the second direction of rotation. Note that if spring 60 is provided, the nozzle contact state can also be maintained if motor 52 is stopped in a state where spring 60 is compressed. The injection section 30 injects the molding material into the mold 26 in the nozzle contact state.
[0024] Fig. Figure 3 is a perspective view showing part of the injection molding machine 1 in the nozzle contact state. The connecting element 34 comprises a support base section 62 and a pair of arm sections 64. In a side view, the connecting element 34 is essentially L-shaped.
[0025] The support base section 62 is displaceable relative to the machine base 10 in the forward direction D11 or the reverse direction D12. A bearing section 66 is provided at one end face of the support base section 62 in the reverse direction D12. One end of the ball screw spindle 54 of the nozzle contact mechanism 48 is attached to the bearing section 66. That is, the bearing section 66 is a section that is connected to the injection section 30.
[0026] The pair of arm sections 64 is arranged with a gap between them in the left-right direction D3. The pair of arm sections 64 projects from an end section of the support base section 62 in the forward direction D11 into the upward direction D21. Each of the pair of arm sections 64 includes a plate connection section 80. Each plate connection section 80 is a section connected to the stationary plate 20 and is located in the upper part of the arm section 64.
[0027] The plate connection sections 80 are designed to be symmetrical on both sides with respect to the nozzle 46. Since the configurations of the plate connection sections 80 are identical, the configuration of one plate connection section 80 is described below.
[0028] In a state where it is rotatable with respect to the stationary plate 20, the plate connection section 80 is attached to a base section 20P that projects from an end face of the stationary plate 20 in the rear direction D12. The plate connection section 80 comprises a recess section 82, a connecting pin 84, and a rotating element 86. Note that the base sections 20P need not be provided. In this case, the plate connection section 80 is attached to the end face of the stationary plate 20 in the rear direction D12.
[0029] The recess section 82 is formed in an upper part of the arm section 64. The recess section 82 extends in the front-back direction D1 from an end surface of the arm section 64 in the forward direction D11 to an end surface of the arm section 64 in the backward direction D12.
[0030] The connecting pin 84 is arranged in the recess section 82. The connecting pin 84 extends in the left-right direction D3 and is attached to the arm section 64. That is, the connecting pin 84 is not rotatable relative to the arm section 64 and is not displaceable relative to the arm section 64 in any of the front-back direction D1, the up-down direction D2, or the left-right direction D3.
[0031] The connecting pin 84, arranged in the recess section 82, penetrates the rotating element 86. The rotating element 86 is attached to the stationary plate 20 in a state in which it can be rotated about the connecting pin 84.
[0032] Fig. Figure 4 is a diagram showing the relationship between the connecting element 34 and the injection section 30. The connecting pin 84 of the connecting element 34 is located at essentially the same height as the nozzle 46 of the injection section 30. That is, the connecting pin 84 passes through a nozzle centerline LN. The nozzle centerline LN is an imaginary line extending from the axis of the nozzle 46 and contained in a plane parallel to the upper surface 10F2 of the second machine base part 10B.
[0033] When the nozzle 46 of the injection section 30 is pressed against the mold 26 by the nozzle contact mechanism 48, a nozzle contact force P2 is generated in the connecting element 34 in response to the contact force P1. Since the support base section 62 in the connecting element 34 is displaceable relative to the machine base 10 in the forward direction D11 or the backward direction D12, the nozzle contact force P2 is primarily generated in the connecting pin 84 of the connecting element 34. Because the connecting pin 84 passes through the nozzle centerline LN, the line of action of the contact force P1 and the line of action of the nozzle contact force P2, which is its reaction force, are aligned with the nozzle centerline LN. Therefore, a moment MF in the direction in which the stationary plate 20 falls over is hardly generated, and it is possible to improve the effectiveness of the connecting element 34 in preventing the stationary plate 20 from falling over.
[0034] It should be noted that the connecting pin 84 does not have to pass through the nozzle centerline LN. In this case, even if the connecting element 34 is inclined towards the stationary plate 20, the moment MF generated by the inclination can be converted into a rotation of the plate connection section 80. As a result, the connecting element 34 can prevent the stationary plate 20 from falling over.
[0035] As in Fig. As shown in Figure 3, the injection molding machine 1 of the present embodiment comprises a first linear motion mechanism 90 and a second linear motion mechanism 92. The first linear motion mechanism 90 and the second linear motion mechanism 92 are arranged such that the stationary plate 20 and the injection section 30 can approach each other.
[0036] The first linear motion mechanism 90 is provided on the second machine base part 10B. The first linear motion mechanism 90 comprises a first support element 100 and a pair of first linear motion guide elements 102. The second linear motion mechanism 92 is provided on the first machine base part 10A. The second linear motion mechanism 92 comprises a second support element 110 and a pair of second linear motion guide elements 112.
[0037] The first support element 100 is an element that supports the injection section 30. The first support element 100 comprises the base section 104 and a plurality of guide blocks 106. The base section 104 is an element to which the injection section main body 42 is attached. The plurality of guide blocks 106 are elements that are displaceable relative to the pair of first linear motion guide elements 102. The plurality of guide blocks 106 support the base section 104. The number of guide blocks 106 provided for a first linear motion guide element 102 is one or more. In the present embodiment, two guide blocks 106 are provided for a first linear motion guide element 102 (see Fig. 1 or Fig. 2), but the present disclosure is not limited to that.
[0038] The base section 104 and the majority of guide blocks 106 can be formed as a single piece or separately. In the case where the base section 104 and the majority of guide blocks 106 are formed separately, the base section 104 can be part of the injection section 30.
[0039] The pair of first linear motion guide elements 102 are elements that guide the first support element 100 in a direction (the front-back direction D1) that lies along the injection direction of the injection section 30. The pair of first linear motion guide elements 102 is installed on the upper surface 10F2 of the second machine base part 10B. The pair of first linear motion guide elements 102 is installed with a gap between them in the left-right direction D3 and extends parallel along the front-back direction D1. The pair of first linear motion guide elements 102 is symmetrical on both sides with respect to the nozzle centerline LN. That is, the pair of first linear motion guide elements 102 is arranged symmetrically with respect to the axis of the nozzle 46.
[0040] The second support element 110 is an element that supports the structure 32. In the present embodiment, the second support element 110 supports the connecting element 34. The second support element 110 comprises a plurality of guide blocks 114. The support base section 62 of the connecting element 34 is attached to the plurality of guide blocks 114. The support base section 62 and the plurality of guide blocks 114 can be formed in one piece. In this case, the support base section 62 is part of the second support element 110, and the pair of arm sections 64 of the connecting element 34 projects from the second support element 110 in the upward direction D21.
[0041] The majority of guide blocks 114 are displaceable relative to the pair of second linear motion guide elements 112. The number of guide blocks 114 provided for a second linear motion guide element 112 is one or more. In the present embodiment, two guide blocks 114 are provided for a second linear motion guide element 112, but the present disclosure is not limited thereto.
[0042] The pair of second linear motion guide elements 112 are elements that guide the second support element 110 in the direction (the front-back direction D1) that lies along the injection direction of the injection section 30. The amount of movement of the second support element 110 is less than the amount of movement of the first support element 100. Note that the amount of movement of the second support element 110 is the amount by which the second support element 110 can move in the front-back direction D1 along the pair of second linear motion guide elements 112. The amount of movement of the first support element 100 is the amount by which the first support element 100 can move in the front-back direction D1 along the pair of first linear motion guide elements 102.
[0043] The pair of second linear motion guide elements 112 is installed on the upper surface 10F2 of the second machine base part 10B. The pair of second linear motion guide elements 112 is installed with a gap between it in the left-right direction D3 and extends parallel along the front-back direction D1. The pair of second linear motion guide elements 112 is symmetrical on both sides with respect to the nozzle centerline LN. That is, the pair of second linear motion guide elements 112 is arranged symmetrically with respect to the axis of the nozzle 46.
[0044] Fig. Figure 5 is a top view showing part of the injection molding machine 1. At least part of the pair of second linear motion guide elements 112 is located in a top view between the pair of first linear motion guide elements 102.
[0045] As in Fig. 2 or Fig. As shown in Figure 3, the height of the position where the pair of first linear motion guide elements 102 is located and the height of the position where the pair of second linear motion guide elements 112 is located differ. In the present embodiment, the position where the pair of second linear motion guide elements 112 is located is lower than the position where the pair of first linear motion guide elements 102 is located. Note that the position where the pair of second linear motion guide elements 112 is located is the upper surface 10F1 of the first machine base part 10A. The position where the pair of first linear motion guide elements 102 is located is the upper surface 10F2 of the second machine base part 10B. As described above, the upper surface 10F1 of the first machine base part 10A is lower than the upper surface 10F2 of the second machine base part 10B.
[0046] The pair of second linear motion guide elements 112 and the pair of first linear motion guide elements 102 have overlapping sections. In other words, as in Fig. As shown in Figure 5, the rear end sections of the pair of second linear motion guide elements 112 and the front end sections of the pair of first linear motion guide elements 102 overlap in the left-right direction D3. Furthermore, as shown in Fig. 2 or Fig. As shown in Figure 3, the rear end sections of the pair of second linear motion guide elements 112 and the front end sections of the pair of first linear motion guide elements 102 overlap in the top-bottom direction D2.
[0047] As seen through the dash-dot line in Fig. As shown in Figure 5, in the nozzle contact state, a portion of the first support element 100 and a portion of the second support element 110 overlap in a top view. In the nozzle contact state, a portion of the connecting element 34 is located between the portion of the first support element 100 and the portion of the second support element 110. In this state, the connecting element 34 is not in contact with either the first support element 100 or the second support element 110. [Modified embodiment]
[0048] The embodiment described above can be modified as follows. In the following modifications, the same reference numerals are used for the same components as in the embodiment described above. Furthermore, in the following modifications, the description that overlaps with that of the embodiment described above is omitted. (Variation 1)
[0049] As in Fig.As shown in Figure 6, the second linear motion mechanism 92 can be provided on the second machine base part 10B. In this case, for example, a surface 10F4, which is lower than the installation surface of the first linear motion guide elements 102, is provided on the second machine base part 10B, and the pair of second linear motion guide elements 112 is installed on the surface 10F4. (Variation 2)
[0050] The first linear motion mechanism 90 can comprise one or more first auxiliary guide elements (not shown) in addition to the pair of first linear motion guide elements 102. The first auxiliary guide elements extend parallel to the pair of first linear motion guide elements 102 along the front-back direction D1. The first auxiliary guide elements can be arranged between the pair of first linear motion guide elements 102. Alternatively, the first auxiliary guide elements can be arranged on the outside of the pair of first linear motion guide elements 102 in the leftward direction D31 or the rightward direction D32. (Variation 3)
[0051] The second linear motion mechanism 92 can comprise one or more secondary auxiliary guide elements (not shown) in addition to the pair of secondary linear motion guide elements 112. The secondary auxiliary guide elements extend parallel to the pair of secondary linear motion guide elements 112 along the front-back direction D1. The secondary auxiliary guide elements can be arranged between the pair of secondary linear motion guide elements 112. Alternatively, the secondary auxiliary guide elements can be arranged on the outside of the pair of secondary linear motion guide elements 112 in the leftward direction D31 or the rightward direction D32. (Variation 4)
[0052] Although not shown, the second linear motion mechanism 92 can comprise a single second linear motion guide element 112 instead of the pair of second linear motion guide elements 112. In this case, at least part of the single second linear motion guide element 112 is arranged in a top view between the pair of first linear motion guide elements 102. (Variation 5)
[0053] Instead of the embodiment described above, the first linear motion mechanism 90 and the second linear motion mechanism 92 can be arranged in a relationship opposite to that of the embodiment described above. That is, at least part of the pair of first linear motion guide elements 102 can be arranged between the pair of second linear motion guide elements 112 in a top view. Alternatively, the position at which the pair of second linear motion guide elements 112 is arranged can be higher than the position at which the pair of first linear motion guide elements 102 is arranged. (Variation 6)
[0054] The upper surface 10F1 of the first machine base part 10A and the upper surface 10F2 of the second machine base part 10B can be at the same height. For example, a height adjustment element (not shown) is provided on at least one of the upper surfaces 10F1 of the first machine base part 10A and the upper surface 10F2 of the second machine base part 10B. In this case, at least one of the first installation surfaces, on which the first linear motion guide elements 102 are installed, and one of the second installation surfaces, on which the second linear motion guide elements 112 are installed, serve as the upper surface of the height adjustment element. Note that a groove can be provided in at least one of the upper surfaces 10F1 of the first machine base part 10A and the upper surface 10F2 of the second machine base part 10B. In this case, at least one of the first installation surfaces and one of the second installation surfaces serve as the bottom surface of the groove. In short, it is sufficient that the height of the first installation surface and the height of the second installation surface are different from each other. (Variation 7)
[0055] The structure 32 is not limited to the connecting element 34. Examples include, for instance, a support element that supports the cylinder part 44. Alternatively, examples include a resin scatter prevention cover that is displaceable in the injection direction of the molding material. (Variation 8)
[0056] The embodiment described above and its variations can be combined in any way as long as no contradiction arises. [Impact in operation]
[0057] In the injection molding machine 1 of the embodiment described above, at least part of the pair of second linear motion guide elements 112 is arranged between the pair of first linear motion guide elements 102 in a top view. Alternatively, at least part of the pair of second linear motion guide elements 112 is arranged between the pair of first linear motion guide elements 102 in a top view. Furthermore, in the injection molding machine 1 of the embodiment described above, the height at which the pair of first linear motion guide elements 102 is located and the height at which the pair of second linear motion guide elements 112 is located are different from each other. Furthermore, in the injection molding machine 1 of the embodiment described above, the range of motion of the second support element 110 is less than the range of motion of the first support element 100.
[0058] According to the injection molding machine 1 of the embodiment described above, interference between the first support element 100 and the second support element 110 can be avoided if the injection section 30 is brought close to the stationary plate 20.
