VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION AND ACCESS CONTROL BASED ON ACCESS PROFILES DIGITAL KEY

Abstract

A method for mutually authenticating a computer system and a digital key-capable vehicle includes initiating a communication session with the digital key-capable vehicle for mutual authentication. The method further includes, in response to receiving a transaction request from the vehicle, providing a digital key to the vehicle, wherein the digital key includes an access profile for the digital key-capable vehicle, the access profile defining an access level to the vehicle, and the access profile of the digital key including an authentication access profile. The method further includes receiving an indication from the vehicle as to whether the transaction between the computer system and the vehicle was successful.The procedure further includes determining that mutual authentication between the vehicle and the computer system was successful. The procedure further includes authorizing the execution of an action.
