Abstract

A heat exchanger according to the invention comprises: heat transfer lines arranged side by side and spaced apart from one another along a horizontal direction, each heat transfer line having a flow passage through which refrigerant flows in a vertical direction; and a manifold comprising a cylindrical collector tube extending along the direction in which the heat transfer lines are arranged. The collector tube comprises: a first section comprising an upper wall into which the lower end faces of the heat transfer lines are inserted, and two first side walls extending downwards from both ends of the upper wall and facing each other; and a second section comprising a bottom wall and two second side walls extending upwards from both ends of the bottom wall and facing each other.The distance between the two second side walls is smaller than the distance between the two first side walls, the heights of the two first side walls are greater than those of the two second side walls, and the first side walls cover corresponding areas of the second side walls, thus forming the cylindrical shape. In the manifold, the distance from the lower ends of the heat transfer pipes to the bottom wall is greater than the distance between the two first side walls.
