Abstract

An electric compressor is provided, which can increase the cooling capacity of the inverter's switching elements compared to conventional technology. In the electric compressor 1A, a through-hole 54 is formed on the end wall 52 of the inverter housing 5A, which contains the inverter 13. The outer surface of the front end wall 32 of the housing 3, which contains the electric motor 9, etc., and has the inlet channel 36, has an exposed section 35 that extends inwards through the through-hole 54 into the inverter housing 5A. The inverter 13 comprises: the several switching elements 131, which are attached to the exposed section 35 by means of the thermally conductive film 21 provided between them, and the electronic circuit board 132, which is attached to the substrate mounting section 55 of the inverter housing 5A and to which the several switching elements 131 are connected.
