Abstract

A photodetection device capable of reducing power consumption and data volume is provided. The photodetection device comprises multiple first pixels arranged in a one-dimensional direction or two-dimensional directions, each of which includes a first photoelectric conversion element that accumulates charge according to an amount of incident light, and an event detection circuit that detects an event due to a change in luminance based on the charge. A pixel block comprising two or more of these multiple first pixels includes a switch that toggles whether or not internal nodes of the two or more first pixels are interconnected.
