Abstract

Transfer device (20), configured for: - receiving a conveyed item (9) in a receiving area (26a), - conveying the conveyed item (9) at least temporarily within a conveying area (26f) in a conveying direction (FR) and in particular in a conveying plane (FE), and - selectively transferring the conveyed item (9) towards a transfer area (3) arranged laterally in the conveying direction (FR), the transfer device (20) comprises a plurality of carriages (21, 22) arranged circumferentially along a guide (23) such that the belt carriages (21) move at least temporarily, in particular in the conveying area (26f), in the conveying direction (FR), wherein at least some of the carriages (21, 22), in particular the belt carriages (21), have a conveyor belt (24), the conveyor belts (24) together form at least temporarily a conveying surface (201) for the conveyed item (9), wherein the conveyor belts (24) move selectively in a transverse direction (Q), are movable perpendicular to the conveying direction (FR),to selectively transfer the conveyed material (9) laterally, wherein the belt carriage (21) or the conveyor belt (24) has an extension (X21, X24) in the transverse direction (Q) that is at least twice as large as an extension (L21) of the belt carriage (21) in the conveying direction (FR), wherein at least some of the carriages (21, 22) have a horizontal support surface (219) that contacts the guide (23), in particular a horizontal guide surface (239) of the guide (23).
