Abstract

A photodetector comprises a first layer, including several first structures having a first refractive index, and a first medium arranged within the first layer having a second refractive index, wherein the first refractive index differs from the second refractive index, and a second layer, including several second structures having a third refractive index, and a second medium arranged within the second layer having a fourth refractive index, wherein the third refractive index differs from the fourth refractive index.The second layer is stacked above the first layer, the multiple first structures contain a first material and the multiple second structures contain a second material, wherein the first material and the second material are different materials from each other, and wherein at least one of the multiple first structures is in contact with at least one of the multiple second structures.
