Abstract

Surgical forceps may comprise an outer shaft, a first jaw, a second jaw, and an inner shaft. The first jaw may include a first flange and a second flange. The first jaw may be pivotally connected to the outer shaft. The second jaw may include a third flange and a fourth flange. The third flange may be welded to the outer shaft, and the fourth flange may also be welded to the outer shaft. The inner shaft may engage with the first and second flanges. The inner shaft may be movable relative to the outer shaft, the third flange, and the fourth flange to move the first jaw between an open and a closed position.
