TELEMETRY SYSTEM WITH AN ARRAY OF SENSOR STATIONS AND AN AERIAL VEHICLE DATA COLLECTION SYSTEM

Abstract

A telemetry system comprises an array of sensor stations arranged in a spaced configuration. Each sensor station includes a sensor for generating sensor data for a specific parameter, a sensor station memory for storing the sensor data, a sensor station antenna, a sensor station radio transmitter, and a sensor station processor for periodically activating the sensor station radio transmitter to transmit the sensor data via the sensor station antenna. The telemetry system also includes an aircraft data acquisition system, including an aircraft data acquisition system antenna, and an aircraft data acquisition system receiver for receiving the sensor data transmitted by the respective sensor station antennas.
