Systems and methods for filtering unlikely locations

Abstract

Systems and methods for filtering improbable locations are disclosed herein. An exemplary system includes: a label configured to transmit data while located in one of a plurality of zones, and a localization engine. The localization engine can be configured to: receive the data; analyze at least one property of the data to determine a current zone of the plurality of zones containing the label, with an associated confidence level; and analyze previous data transmitted by the label to determine whether the current zone differs from a previous zone determined from the previous data.The localization engine can also (i) compare a time difference between receiving the previous data and receiving the current data, and (ii) compare the associated confidence value with a cost value corresponding to moving from the previous zone to the current zone, and update a location of the label based on the comparison.
