Abstract

An image processing device is provided comprising: an image acquisition unit that captures image information about an object, this information being obtained through a visual sensor; a rotationally symmetric figure recognition unit that recognizes an object with a rotationally symmetric shape based on the captured image information; and a detected angle output unit that, based on the captured image information, outputs an angle of the detected object with respect to a predetermined reference direction. If the order of rotational symmetry of the detected object is n, the detected angle output unit outputs the angle of the detected object with respect to the predetermined reference direction as an angle of at least 0 degrees and less than (360 / n) degrees.
