Abstract

A comfort system, a vehicle seat incorporating this system, and a method for operating this system. The comfort system comprises a plurality of comfort cells arranged within the vehicle seat, a control module that communicates with the plurality of comfort cells to control their operation, and a plurality of sensors, including at least one or more sensors suitable for detecting displacement of the plurality of comfort cells (e.g., strain gauges), air pressure within the comfort cells (e.g., pressure sensors), or both.
