GATE DRIVER DEVICE AND ELECTRONIC CONTROL DEVICE

Abstract

A constant-current driver circuit is provided for controlling a driver current that energizes a gate terminal of a gate-driven power semiconductor device based on a predetermined reference voltage. A diagnostic circuit is also provided for diagnosing the presence or absence of an anomaly in the constant-current driver circuit. The constant-current driver circuit generates the driver current by applying a negative feedback voltage to a reference resistor. This negative feedback voltage is a constant voltage controlled by negative feedback. The diagnostic circuit compares a diagnostic voltage, corresponding to the reference voltage, with the negative feedback voltage and diagnoses the presence or absence of an anomaly in the constant-current driver circuit based on the result of this comparison.
