Abstract

For semiconductor devices, especially power semiconductor devices, which require stable operation at high temperatures, the present invention provides semiconductor devices that suppress the penetration of moisture into the interior of the device into an insulating material, as well as the formation of cavities and cracks in the insulating material during heating, and prevent partial discharge and dielectric breakdown. A semiconductor device comprises a semiconductor substrate on which semiconductor elements are mounted, and a housing that hermetically seals the semiconductor substrate, the housing having a pressure adjustment section that changes the volume inside the housing according to the pressure inside the housing.
