Elevated oxygen outlet pressure in an electrolyzer

Abstract

Systems and methods for increasing the oxygen production of an electrolysis system are provided. The electrolysis system includes a water storage tank. The electrolysis system further includes an electrolyzer, which is in fluid communication with the water storage tank and is configured to produce oxygen and hydrogen from water, e.g., (H₂O). The electrolysis system also includes one or more pressure isolation components configured to increase the oxygen outlet pressure of the system by pressure-isolating the water storage tank from the electrolysis stack.
