Abstract

Battery module comprising: a battery cell stack in which a plurality of battery cells are stacked, each battery cell extending in a longitudinal direction, the battery cells being stacked adjacent to one another in a lateral direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction; a module frame for receiving the battery cell stack; and a heat sink formed on a bottom of the module frame for cooling the plurality of battery cells, the heat sink comprising a bottom plate, an inlet, an outlet, and a flow path part connecting the inlet and outlet and defining a flow path for a refrigerant, the flow path part comprising: a first path group collecting first flow paths formed in the longitudinal direction perpendicular to the stacking direction of the battery cell stack;and a second path group that collects second paths formed in the lateral direction parallel to the stacking direction of the battery cell stack, a first side wall part extending in the longitudinal direction, and a second side wall part extending in the lateral direction, the total length of the second side wall part being longer than the total length of the first side wall part, the first side wall part being formed between the first flow paths and the second side wall part being formed between the second flow paths, the total length of the second path group along the lateral direction of the module frame being longer than the total length of the first path group along the longitudinal direction of the module frame, each of the first flow paths and the second flow paths being wider than each of the first side wall part and the second side wall part.
