Abstract

Rim (10) for a vehicle wheel, with - a rim body (12) which -- a hub section (14), -- a rim bed (16) for receiving a tire, -- several support sections (20) arranged between the hub section (14) and the rim bed (16), and -- has at least one space (22) arranged between support sections (20), - an operating device, and - at least one cover element (28) which is assigned to a space (22), wherein -- the cover element (28) can be moved from a first position to a second position by means of the actuating device and wherein a covering of the gap (22) by the cover element (28) in the first position differs from a covering of the gap (22) by the cover element (28) in the second position, and wherein -- the cover element (28) deforms during the transition from the first position to the second position, characterized in that the actuating device is formed by an element (40; 40') which, upon exceeding a first predefined temperature, automatically begins to move the cover element (28) from the first position towards the second position, wherein the first position is a position in which the space (22) associated with the cover element (28) is more fully covered by the cover element (28) than in the second position, wherein the first position is preferably a position in which the space (22) associated with the cover element (28) is completely covered, wherein the second position is a position in which the space (22) associated with the cover element (28) is less fully covered by the cover element (28) than in the first position, wherein the second position is preferably a position in which the cover element (28) assumes a maximum opening position.
