Clamping device

Abstract

A clamping device enabling a user to selectively clamp a flexible elongated clamping element, the clamping device comprising: a rotatable spindle element operable for wrapping the flexible elongated clamping element around it when the rotatable spindle element is rotated in the winding direction; a spindle drive element with which the rotatable spindle element can be rotated at least in the winding direction;a rotary actuator which is rotatable in a first direction and in a second direction opposite to the first direction about an actuator axis of rotation and which is linearly movable between a connected state in which the rotary actuator is functionally connected to the spindle actuator, in order to be able to rotate the rotatable spindle element in the winding direction when the rotary actuator is rotated in the first direction, and a released state in which the rotary actuator is functionally released from the rotatable spindle element; and a motion converter mechanism which is operable to cause, when the rotary actuator is in the connected state, the rotary actuator to perform a linear movement of the rotary actuator from the connected state to the released state when rotated in the second direction.
