Mixer for mixing gas in a treatment system

Abstract

A mixer for mixing gas in a treatment system, wherein the mixer has the following features: an inner tube having a first end, an opposite second end and a first flow path extending therethrough it; an inlet zone having at least one first opening near the first end, wherein the at least one first opening brings a gas volume outside the inner tube into fluid communication with an inner volume of the inner tube along the first flow path; an outer tube that circumscribes the inner tube and defines a second flow path between an outer surface of the inner tube and an inner surface of the outer tube, wherein the inlet zone further comprises at least a second opening that brings the gas volume into fluid contact with the second flow path; an aperture having a projection engaging with the inner surface of the outer tube, the projection having a distal end positioned within the outer tube and positioned close to and spaced apart from the second end of the inner tube; and an outlet zone positioned at the second end of the inner tube, where the first flow path and the second flow path are connected to mix the gas exiting from the first flow path and the second flow path, the projection has an opening for receiving the mixed gas.
