Abstract

Device for sanitizing liquids, such as water, comprising a first process stage (10) for cleaning the respective liquid in the form of a fluid stream of particulate contamination in order to reduce turbidity and a second, subsequent process stage (12) for inactivating microorganisms in the fluid stream, characterized in that - the first process stage (10) of the fluid flow in radial flow direction (14) and - the second process stage (12) is traversed by the fluid flow in axial flow direction (16) as well as - between the first process stage (10) and the second process stage (12) a guide device (18) is present which deflects the fluid flow from the radial flow direction (14) to the axial flow direction (16).
