Description

Field of the invention

[0001] This innovation relates to a kit for attaching a saddle to a rear motorcycle fender. Description of the state of the art

[0002] The rear fender is known to be an essential part of a motorcycle, whose function is to prevent sand, mud, stones, liquids and other splashes from being thrown into the air by the tire as it rolls and causing damage to people and other vehicles as well as the rider of the motorcycle.

[0003] In addition, the rear fender is generally used to secure the motorcycle seat. The system used for this attachment must, of course, be easy to use while also being stable while riding to prevent unwanted movement for the rider.

[0004] Document DE202022104266 shows a rear motorcycle fender with a fastening system between the fender and the seat that uses two hook-shaped projections arranged longitudinally of the fender between the respective arms and the main body. In particular, these hook-shaped projections serve to prevent the seat from sliding backward during heavy acceleration.

[0005] This system naturally involves a slight longitudinal shift of the seat during acceleration or braking. Furthermore, the seat's movement cannot be securely locked during braking, as the seat would move in the opposite direction of the hook during braking.

[0006] Furthermore, this system cannot provide any shock absorption in the event of impacts on the motorcycle, a situation that frequently occurs in the field of application in question, especially when used on a motocross or trial motorcycle. Summary of the invention

[0007] It is therefore an object of the present innovation to provide a kit for attaching a seat to a rear motorcycle fender that is easy to use and at the same time stable while driving, both during braking and acceleration.

[0008] Another feature of the present innovation is to provide such a kit that makes it possible to cushion the movements of the saddle.

[0009] These and other objects are achieved by a kit for attaching a saddle to a rear motorcycle fender, the saddle comprising two receiving holes, the kit comprising a rear motorcycle fender with an elongated main body extending along a longitudinal axis y, the elongated main body comprising two side edges which are mutually symmetrical with respect to the longitudinal axis y, the main feature being that the rear motorcycle mudguard also comprises two fixing holes arranged on the elongated main body and mutually symmetrical with respect to the longitudinal axis y, and that the kit also includes two fasteners, each fastener comprising: - a first head arranged to be inserted into a respective receiving hole of the saddle; - a second head arranged to be inserted into a respective fixing hole of the rear fender of the motorcycle.

[0010] Thus, this innovation allows the use of the holes already present in the saddle to create a fastening system to the rear motorcycle fender that is easy to use and at the same time stable while riding, both during braking and acceleration.

[0011] Advantageously, the first head is configured so that the fastening element is formed integrally with the saddle.

[0012] Advantageously, the second head is configured so that it can be reversibly inserted into a respective mounting hole of the rear motorcycle fender.

[0013] In particular, the first head comprises a tip and a base, the tip having a non-axisymmetric plan shape and a greater width than the base, in such a way that the first head can be inserted into a respective receiving hole of the saddle and then rotated to form the fastening element integrally with the saddle.

[0014] In particular, the second head comprises an enlarged cross-section and a restricted cross-section, the enlarged cross-section having an axially symmetric plan shape and a greater width than the restricted cross-section, in such a way that the first head can be inserted into a respective mounting hole of the rear motorcycle fender by engaging therebetween by means of pressure from a user.

[0015] This allows a user to insert the first heads of the fasteners into the saddle mounting holes and lock them in place in such a way that they cannot be removed by simply pulling.

[0016] The second heads can instead be pressed into the fender mounting holes when the user wants to close the saddle and removed by simply pulling them out of these holes to open the saddle.

[0017] Alternatively, the second head is configured so that the fastener is integral with the rear motorcycle fender.

[0018] Alternatively, the first head is configured so that it can be reversibly inserted into the respective receiving hole of the saddle.

[0019] In this second embodiment, unlike the previous solution, the fasteners can be integrally attached to the rear fender and inserted and removed by pressure from the saddle.

[0020] Advantageously, each fastening element is made at least partially of plastic.

[0021] Advantageously, the first head has a button or mushroom shape. Short description of the drawings

[0022] The innovation will now be illustrated by the following description of its exemplary embodiments, which are not limited thereto, with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: - Fig. 1 shows a possible exemplary embodiment of the rear motorcycle fender according to the present innovation; - the Fig. 2A to 2D show various perspective views of the fasteners; - the Fig. 3A to 3E show the subsequent steps required to assemble the kit according to this innovation. Description of some preferred exemplary embodiments

[0023] With reference to Fig. 1, the kit for attaching a saddle 200 to a rear motorcycle fender 100 according to the present innovation comprises a rear motorcycle fender 100 comprising an elongated main body 110 extending along a longitudinal axis y and comprising two side edges 115 mutually symmetrical with respect to the longitudinal axis y.

[0024] In addition, the rear motorcycle fender 100 comprises two mounting holes 120 arranged on the elongated main body 110 and also mutually symmetrical with respect to the longitudinal axis y.

[0025] With reference to the Fig. 2A to 2D, the kit also includes two fasteners 150, each fastener 150 comprising a first head 151 arranged to be inserted into a respective receiving hole 210 of the saddle 200 and a second head 152 arranged to be inserted into a respective mounting hole 120 of the rear motorcycle fender 100.

[0026] In particular, the first head 151 of each fastener 150 has a button or mushroom shape and is configured so that the fastener 150 is formed integrally with the saddle 200, while the second head 152 is configured to snap into a respective mounting hole 120 of the rear motorcycle fender 100.

[0027] In particular, and also with reference to the Fig.3A to 3E, the first head 151 comprises a tip 151' and a base 151'', and the tip 151' has a non-axisymmetric plan shape, e.g., oval, and a greater width than the base 151'', in such a way that the first head 151 can be inserted into a respective receiving hole 210 of the saddle 200 and then rotated to form the fastening element 150 integral with the saddle 200.

[0028] Furthermore, the second head 152 includes an enlarged cross-section 152' and a restricted cross-section 152'', and the enlarged cross-section 152' has an axially symmetric plan shape and a width greater than the restricted cross-section 152'', in such a way that the first head 152 can be inserted into a respective mounting hole 120 of the rear motorcycle fender 100 by engaging them by means of pressure from a user.

[0029] Due to this shape, each fastener 150 can be inserted and locked into a receiving hole 210 arranged in the saddle 200 and then pressed into the fender 100 under pressure during use by a user.

[0030] In this way, the kit, according to the present innovation, provides a simple and, above all, stable fastening system while driving, both during acceleration and braking, thus avoiding unwanted movements for the driver during such maneuvers.

[0031] In addition, each fastening element 150 may be made of an at least partially rubberized material to provide additional damping, including lateral damping, for the movements of the saddle.

[0032] The foregoing description of some exemplary specific embodiments may demonstrate innovation from a conceptual point of view, so that others, by applying current knowledge, will be able to modify and / or adapt the specific exemplary embodiments in various applications without further research and without departing from the invention, and accordingly, it is intended that such adaptations and modifications are to be considered equivalent to the specific embodiments. The means and materials for providing the various functions described may be changes in nature without departing from the scope of innovation. It is to be understood that the phraseology or terminology used herein is for the purpose of description and not of limitation. QUOTES CONTAINED IN THE DESCRIPTION
