Abstract

Device for the preparation of hot beverages, in particular an espresso machine, comprising: a heating device (1) for generating steam, which can be used, for example, for frothing milk; a drip tray (20); and a cooling device (4) with an inlet opening (5) and an outlet opening (6), wherein the inlet opening (5) is connected indirectly or directly to the heating device (1) via at least a first connecting line (3), wherein the outlet opening (6) is connected indirectly or directly to the drip tray (20) via at least a second connecting line (7), and wherein the cooling device (4) is configured to cool the steam entering the inlet opening (5) so that it at least partially condenses and exits as water from the outlet opening (6).
