Abstract

Clothes hanger (1) comprising a housing (4), two hanger arms (7, 8) pivotably arranged in the housing (4) about pivot axes (9, 10) between a folded-up holding position and a folded-down removal position, return springs (19) associated with the hanger arms (7, 8) for returning the hanger arms (7, 8) to the folded-up holding position, and an actuating element (28) movable between an upper locking position for retaining the hanger arms (7, 8) in the folded-up holding position and a lower release position for pivoting the hanger arms (7, 8) into the folded-down removal position, characterized in that the return springs (19) are designed as spiral tension springs and are arranged such that their central axes (21) move in the direction of the pivot axes (9, 10) of the hanger arms (7, 8) when the hanger arms (7, 8) are moved into the folded-down removal position.
