Abstract

A conductor terminal (1) comprising an insulating housing (2), a busbar (5), and a clamping spring (6), wherein: - the clamping spring (6) has a contact leg (7) and a clamping leg (8); - the clamping leg (8) forms a clamping point (10) with the busbar (5) for an electrical conductor (12) that can be inserted in a conductor insertion direction (L) through a conductor insertion channel (3) into a conductor receiving space (11) of the conductor terminal (1); - the clamping leg (8) is displaceable between an open position (O) and a closed position (S) for opening and closing the clamping point (10); - the conductor terminal (1) has a retaining contour (13) for holding the clamping leg (8) in the open position (O) and a release mechanism (14) that can be actuated by the inserted electrical conductor (12) for releasing and automatically displacing the clamping leg (8) into the closed position (S).and- the conductor terminal (1) has a pivotable actuating lever (15) with an operating section (20) pivotable in an actuating direction (B) from a ready position (B1) to an actuating position (B2) for displacing the clamping leg (8) from the closed position (S) to the open position (O), characterized in that the actuating direction (B) of the operating section (20) is opposite to the conductor insertion direction (L) of the electrical conductor (12).
